Great is Thy Faithfulness!

Filed under: Friends, Jesus — sashyjane @ 3:12 pm

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.   Romans 8:18

Hannah’s memorial service today was just about the most worshipful and beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. What a blessing to see how the Lord was so faithful to His children!

Great is Thy Faithfulness

Chisholm/Runyan

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Refrain: Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

  1. I just recently found your blog and I’ve not been able to get this family out of my mind. I have a 3.5 year old daughter who had a spot on her heart in the womb. We were told it could be nothing or something very devastating. No one, including the doctors, knew what to expect when she was born. Needless to say, she is fine and we are just filing the info on her under the category of “new things you find when using 3-D imaging during pregnancy.” (although many times we say that spot is/was just an extra dose of love in heart). So when I saw the post about this family losing their daughter … wow, what can I say, but that it made me think of my Kate. My prayers go out to them and I pray that God will continue to hold them close in His hands. While His plans are not always easy to understand, His plans are perfect and His love is sure.
    Love that old, sweet hymn. One of those it’s hard to sing in church without tears welling up in my eyes.
    To God be the Glory,
    mk
