Concrete Jungle where dreams are made of*

* The grammatical incorrectness of that phrase really bothers me.

I board a plane tomorrow afternoon for NYC!! While we haven’t come up with a solid itinerary, here are a few of the things topping my list of  to-dos.

  1. Visit Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment (just the outside of it)
  2. Eat at Katz’s deli (the “I’ll have what she’s having” deli from When Harry Met Sally)
  3. Eat a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery (only if there isn’t a line this long)
  4. Eat some legit Italian food in Little Italy
  5. Go to Serendipity – I sure have a lot of food-related things on my list.
  6. See the Shoe Floor at Saks (it has its own zip code!)
  7. Visit Central Park
  8. Buy fake stuff in China Town
  9. Visit Rockefeller Center
  10. Go to the Library

But most of all, I plan to pay attention, take pictures and remember as much as possible.  The last time I was in NY, I was too busy trying to keep an eye out for Joey Fatone in Little Italy and any errant Backstreet Boys roaming the streets that I didn’t pay attention to half of the things we did and saw.

Is there anything else I have to eat, see or do? I’m still taking suggestions.

I apologize for the lack of links and picture credits. For some reason, I can’t get copy and paste to work on the internet so it would take me a month to type all the links to everything.

  1. a few thoughts…

    1. no matter how long the line is…the cupcakes are worth it. we went at about 10 at night and the line wasn’t terrible. SO DELICIOUS! go ahead and a buy a couple… you’ll want them later.
    2. while you are at rockefeller center, go walk around the nbc studios. we saw some famous girl from SNL..which I don’t watch really so couldn’t remember her name but Amber knew her and I recognized her face!
    3. are you going to a broadway show?? we went day of to the box office (no line) and got tickets for $60…not bad. mamma mia was SO good!
    4. cash cab of course…

    that’s all for now :)

  3. Watch people ice skating at Rockefeller center! It’s so fun to watch but there are so many people and you have two people who are less mobile so maybe not that. Also, I know it sounds like it wouldn’t be fun but FAO Schwartz is worth going in and exploring. It’s unbelievable how many and how cool the toys are that they have!
More to come when I talk to you!

  4. Oh, and how about the Met, the MOMA, etc? Or a gallery show. It would be so incredible to go to an art show in NYC (maybe the one of Matt’s paintings of Betty?)
