Greg Turco

Every year, Augusta has an arts festival called Arts in the Heart.  Mama and I have enjoyed going for the last couple of years and always manage to fall in love with a new artist or photographer.

About 2 years ago, we visited Georgia-based photographer Greg Turco’s booth.  His beautiful use of all-natural light and unusual subjects were completely mesmerizing and I think we pored over every image in his tiny tent.  Mama walked away with an 18×18 matted photograph of a gorgeous live oak tree (we lived in the Savannah area for years and the oak trees are a reminder of “home”) and couldn’t stop thinking about “Three Blue Chairs” from the abandoned places collection.

Knowing that she loved the piece but couldn’t bring herself to purchase both, I bought the Three Blue Chairs for her birthday.  It’s absolutely perfect on her green copper walls.

Susie fell in love with “Prison Walls” and got it for her birthday.

I think my favorite image might be the one below.  Can you guess what it is?

bedspringsmaster5It’s boxsprings!

I also love this unbelievable shot of Wormsloe Plantation.

His use of completely natural light and unstaged subjects is what sort of sets him apart.  I’ll take one of each, please!

Check out more gorgeous work here.  Go see a showBuy an incredible piece of art for your house.  Love it forever.
